Module 6 Peer Review


1.1. When looking at Project #1: (Elements and Principles), did you agree with the element or principle the artist listed with the images? Did you see other elements and principles in the images?

I see the elements and principles listed in all the images, I think the image used for pattern also has the element of symmetry.

1.2. When looking at Project #2: Where there any images in the Peer Blogs the same as your own? If yes, what were they? Where the reasons the image was selected the same or different as your own?

There weren't any images that I chose, but there were 2 images that I was considering. Those are the dog on a leash painting and the pumpkin statue.

 I agree with the elements they chose in all the pictures. I can also see the element of contrast in the picture for movement.

 2.2. When looking at Project #2: Where there any images in the Peer Blogs the same as your own? If yes, what were they? Where the reasons the image was selected the same or different as your own?

None of the images were the same but there was 1 image that I was considering which is the dog on a leash. They chose it for the same reason I was considering choosing it which is how the artist is representing a moment of rush and motion.

3. Where there any images that your Peers selected that pique your interest now? If yes, what are they and what is your connection with them? What would you want to know about them?

 I would like to know more about abstract works like the ones by Joan Mitchell. Abstract art is not something I can relate to and I would like to know what the idea of the artist is when making such paintings.

4. What do you think about  the process of reading your peers reflection? Do you find this to be a valuable in your learning?

 I think peer review is a good thing as it lets you know what you did good or not, and lets you adjust your ways of doing things.

Module 5 Logo

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo. Creating a logo proved to be a challenge because you have to make it appealing but at the same time it needs to be simple. 2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation. I tried to use my initials as the main part of the logo. I tried to make them like they blend into each other but then I realized that it doesn't have any meaning. I study computer information systems so I thought I could incorporate some elements from that in my logo. The bottom 2 sketches are my ideas for that, one is more electronic looking and the other is supposed to be a command line but I don't think it looks good as a logo. 3. Project #5

1. Use the vocabulary you have learned in class to describe this artwork or performance in detail. "Guernica" is a monochrome painting done in black, white, and shades of grey. Picasso makes use of sharp lines and shapes to depict the subjects of the painting. By presenting the subjects of the painting through deformed shapes the artist reinforces the idea of pain and suffering present in the artwork. 2. What processes were used to create this work? What social influences might the artist be responding to and why?
