Module 16

1. I think my expectations were met, which was to learn how to better interpret art. What I didn't expect from this course was art gallery visits but it turned out to be a fun and interesting activity. 2. I think art is a way of expressing emotions or ideas. It's a way of expressing opinions about our society, politics, as well as a different important events. 3. I didn't have a favorite artist but after getting more exposure to classic artists I think I like Vincent Van Gogh's style of painting. 4. This was my first online course and didn't know what to expect from it but now after finishing it I feel better about taking another online course.

Picasso makes use of sharp lines and shapes to depict the subjects of the painting. By presenting the subjects of the painting through deformed shapes the artist reinforces the idea of pain and suffering present in the artwork. 2. What processes were used to create this work? What social influences might the artist be responding to and why? Picasso created this artwork as a political statement in response to the Nazi's devastating casual bombing practice on the Basque town of Guernica during Spanish Civil War. Describe the symbols used to express this relationship. "Guernica" is a political statement against the Nazi's b...

Project #4

This project was more interesting than I expected it to be. Having to identify and select art pieces for my exhibition was a fun process. I started up by looking at famous artists like Leonardo Da Vinci and continued by selecting pictures from google results related to the theme of my exhibition which is Humanism. I decided to go with "Center of the Universe" for my title because one aspect of Humanism is to focus on the human aspect and that people should embrace human achievements.
