I chose the videos " Andy Warhol: Images of an Image" and " Hockney on Photography"  because I think photography is an interesting topic. 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. Andy Warhol: Images of an Image - The key concepts of this video is how Andy Warhol chose to represent his subjects in his photographs and the techniques that were used to do so. Step 1: The Exhibition Questions about the exhibit: 1. What is the title of the exhibit? Humble and Human 2. What is the theme of the exhibition? Exhibition in honor of Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Impressionism. Step 2: The Gallery Questions about the physical space: 1. What type of lighting is used? Dim lighting, each work is lit by an individual light directed at the art work. 2. What colors are used on the walls? Each room was a different color to match the theme of the art. Colors used were light blue, navy, pink, green 3. What materials are used in the interior architecture of the space? The architecture surrounding the art pieces has elements that add to the atmosphere that the paintings create. 4. How is the movement of the viewer through the gallery space? Each room is a different experience as the color of the walls and the theme of the paintings create a unique experience. Module 10 Mask

Inspiration models: The mask uses elements of symmetry, contrast, and geometric shapes to give the mask a certain feel.  The mask uses elements of symmetry, and puts an emphasis on functionality rather than looks and meaning. The mask uses elements of symmetry, round shapes, and contrasting colors. Sketches: My mask: I went with sketch #3. In my mask I used the elements of symmetry, color, and shape. The mask is mostly made up of rectangles. I used the colors red and black because red is a color that grabs attention and black is a good match for red.

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above. I chose those videos because they're on topics I'd like to know more about. 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. Buddhism - The video talks about the elements and symbolism of Buddhism. It talks about the message of Buddhism and how Buddha influenced the culture. African Art - The video is about African art and its symbolism. It examines the aesthetic and functionality of the African art. 2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text? The videos relate to the text by exploring the meaning and symbolism of the art and the role in the culture. 3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts? I think the videos add depth to the reading by going into detail of art of a specific culture.

Module 9 Exploring Line

1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing? It was weird because I found out I don't know as much details about my hands as I thought I did. 2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why? I chose pencil because I don't have charcoal. 3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand? It was difficult to draw because I never use my left hand to write or draw. 4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies? I think they are successful studies because even if they're both bad you can tell which one was made with the non-dominant hand. 5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future? I would not.

1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above. I chose " Albrecht Dürer: Image of a Master" and "Velaquez" because I am somewhat familiar with the people in the other videos and wanted to find something new. 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. Albrecht Dürer: Image of a Master - I think the key concepts of the video is that   Albrecht Dürer was one of the greatest artist in Germany and his works inspired by his mentors served as a path for Italian Renaissance ideas to be introduced in Germany. Velaquez - The key concepts of the video is how Velazquez portrays his subjects in his paintings. His views on disabilities and what he thinks are important aspects of a person's portrait allowed him to make very beautiful and realistic paintings. His paintings allows you to see the person in the painting for who they are by emphasizing the looks on their face and their expressions . ...
